The use of a Sikla system largely reduces labour-intensive welding as far as possible to the hull construction phase. Isolation and paint work can be completed immediately afterwards. All installations in the outfitting phase are based on screwed connections, allowing work to be done highly parallel. Insulation and paint are remaining intact. In addition to higher occupational safety and health protection this method significantly reduces fire risks. This outfitting strategy results in remarkable cost and time savings.

Absolutely not. Based on our many years of experience, we have compiled a case collection comprising several hundred pages of tried and tested mounting solutions. We call it the Sikla System Substructure Catalogue. If your solution is still missing, we will develop it. Together with you, we compile the system substructure catalogue suitable for your project. The resulting catalogue shows the mounting solutions for all trades in your project and contains the parts lists of the required materials. This enables the worker to create the appropriate and class-compliant fixation on site according to the uniform standard of the system substructure catalogue. For flexible modifications, the supports can be adapted, dismantled and reused at any time. This results in considerable time savings from the planning phase of a project onwards. The scrap rate for modifications is reduced to a minimum. With your system substructure catalogue, you have also taken care of the documentation of your mounting solutions in the project.

We recalculated completed shipbuilding projects with our customers and compared weights of conventionally welded brackets with the Sikla system substructure.

If we take a ferry, for example, the use of a Sikla solutions resulted in a weight saving of 36%. On a current cruise ship, the weight for brackets was reduced by 32%.

These weight savings result in lower fuel costs and in lower ship operating costs over the entire service life of the ship.

We have investigated this question in extensive tests for our customers, including the German Federal Navy. The Sikla System Substructure in the ship can withstand vibrations and even extreme shock loads and has therefore been successfully used in national and international naval projects for more than a decade.

Our shipbuilding products are designed with the aim of sound and vibration insulation. The excellent decoupling and damping properties of our DNV-GL approved components are achieved due to the use of suitable materials and careful design. Pipe clamps, for example, have sound insulation inserts, supports for air ducts have bushings for the elastomer elements. Our damping elements carry loads from 50 kg up to a ton each. The use of suitable materials for fixation of components reduces subsequent expenditure for insulation and interior work. Overall, the comfort for passengers and crew increases significantly. The lifespan of vibration-sensitive electronics and other sensitive components is extended.

On the contrary. With conventionally welded supports, several types of pipe clamps matching the pipe material are required for one pipe diameter. This task can usually be accomplished with only one Sikla clamp. With good pre-planning and standardization (e.g. with a Sikla System Substructure Catalogue) the variety of parts and storage requirements are limited. If a shortage should occur, Sikla delivers from stock directly to the construction site - in the shortest possible time.
